Default Classic security...

Im looking at a security system but I dont want the average system with the keypad and sirens, etc... Im looking for a kit that is basically an engine kill. I dont have anything of value in the car, just care about the car itself, haha.

Ive seen setups where there is a "chip" needed prior to being able to start the car. It almost looks like a small thumbdrive that you can take with you when you leave the car. Im sure this is pretty common but I cant find it anywhere. Searching security chip in google just gives me the systems for tracking kids in the car, haha. Anyone know any sites or companies? Thanks

A buddy of mine did not want a typical alarm, so he installed a plug style starter kill. It was pretty sharp, simple, and works to slow them down. They could hot wire the electric fuel pump, if you have one, and the starter solenoid, but that would draw a lot of attention. It would be good to shop a car theft while you jump in to get your hair cut or something along those lines. I am texting him now to get the name.

You could always do Lojack or something equivalent in case they make it past the kill switch. Just another option to protect your investment.

i have seen where a kill switch is wired to the cigarette lighter and will only complete the ignition circuit if the lighter (modified) is in, not max security, but it works

I made a fake coil wire took a old one yanked the ends off and glued them on a piece of vaccum line it looks like a normal one.The best insurance and a lojack are the best things you can do.Nothing stops a tow truck everything else will stop or slow down a normal theft.

No but its real easy get vaccum line the same thickness as your wires are now and glue to ends on it.Or take a old coil wire and cut the insulation take the wire out and glue it back together.
