Default ENGINE PAINT QUESTION

Hi guys I got a question about paint, I have my engine apart, completely cleaned everything and sanded the entire block down. I have the heads off as well and sanded them also.

Tomorrow Im thinking of painting the engine block and heads. I went to a car paint shop and they gave me acrylic paint. They said that it should do for an engine. They also gave me primer.

Is it ok to primer the block and paint it with acrylic paint? Im mixing the paint and using a paint gun. Im doing it semi gloss black. let me know what you guys think

thanks

What ever you use needs to be high heat tolerant. I simply use Duplicolor engine paint. It looks good and stuck nicely.

I have used enamels(not heat paint) on engines with no issues
