Question Tires & Flat Spots

About a month or so ago I got my new wheels and tires. My car has been on and off of jack stands. Its not going to be running yet but should be in the next 2-3 months.

Do I need to leave it on jack stands until then to avoid flat spots in my tires? How long does it take to create bad flat spots from sitting?

Don't worry about it. Modern radial tires don't develop flat spots as easily as old bias plies. 2-3 months is nothing Just make sure they're good and aired up.

Years, basically. Even if they do develop a flat spot, it will quickly go away once re-inflated to proper pressure and driven on long enough to get the tire up to temperature. Probably not the most comfortable drive, but really nothing to worry about unless the rubber has naturally started to degrade and crack in the time it sat to develop the flat spot.

Yeah, I'd worry about rubber degradation before I'd worry about flat spots in modern tires. Radial tire design eliminates the common belt shift problems in bias plies. The belts don't slide past eachother, so they don't stuck in any one positition. Usually the only 'flat spots' in radials are actually high spots where the tread is starting to separate, and then the road wears that one spot more than other spots. That, or somebody stood on the brakes really good and scrubbed the tread off

I agree with everyone above and you dont have to worry. I just move mine once every couple of months a couple of feet in either direction (just in case) and up the air in the tire while in storage.

Thats kind of what I thought. I just didn't want to ruin a good set of tires because of doing something stupid. Thanks for all the input.
