clear coat question
Ok spent the last three days painting, pant came out near perfect. after clearing i created runs on both quarters, one door and fender, hood and the top on the car looks "Misted" whats the cutting procedure to get out the runs? I would just sand each panel but cat afford to buy another gallon of clear.
Runs are usually no problem. What you want to do is take a single edge razor blade and bend it just a little bit into a small U shape. (just a little so it's not flat anymore) then you take the blade with the bottom of the "U" and keep it angled toward you at about 75 degrees to the run and shave off the run pulling toward you. Make sure to just touch the run with the "U" part of the blade. Shave it down untill it is level with the surrounding material, then sand like normal and polish.
Hope that make sense.
As for the misting, is it just overspray from clearing the rest of the car? If so it should come out with the normal wet sanding and polishing.

+1 on the razor blade for runs.
Here is a you tube videos of how to do it:

Be careful not to get into the base or you will need to seal with primer, then base coat and then clear coat the panel again.

If you have enough clear coat build up you may be able to get the orange peel out. If you have 2 coats and need to sand lots of peel out, you may need to recoat with CC. Better to just knock down most and then clear again and then do a color sanding (1500-2000) to smooth it flat.
Be really careful not to sand the CC into the Base. If you do sand into the basecoat, you will have to prime the spot, shoot new base over the primed area and then clear the entire panel (to blend in the clear). The reason you have to do this is you will be out of the time window for base /clear and the clear will not stick to the old base
