Default Tire Pressure

Have recently put magnum 500 chrome wheels on my 1967 mustang and tires are not holding air pressure. Any suggestions??

Thanks

are they all not holding pressure or just 1 or 2 of them?

put some dawn in a bucket and fill it with some hot water (hot water will make it suds up more)

pull 1 wheel off at a time and take a cheap sponge and put the soapy water around the bead of the tire (where the tire meets the rim of the wheel) and see if it is leaking there.

check the valve stem as well. it may leak where it is pressed into the wheel, or the inside of the stem may be leaking. forget the technical term but the center section inside the valve stem is able to be screwed up to releive all the air.

i would put it at either of those.

valve stem leak or bead leak

edit:

you can use anythign that will foam up doesnt have to be soapy water, its just the easiest cheapest sure fire thing that will bubble.

if you have simple green around the house its great for it as well undiluted

Metal valve stems are notorious for leaking due to improper installation. It's easy to split the thin gasket at the base if you tighten them too much. Regular rubber stems don't have this prob, but they aren't as cool. Spit on the base and see if it bubbles.

Check the rims for micro cracks also...

unscrew the plastic cap from on top of the valve stem.
Spit on the tip of your finger and put that on top of the valve stem (where you'd fill it). make sure it's fully covered.
If it bubbles the valve is your problem. maybe tightening the valve in there already does the trick

RTV slicone can be used to patch/plug leaky seals around metal valves.
