Precisely ; I am trying to get advice from my "mustang brotherhood" as to what is the best way to eliminate the shackles (which came w/ the car) while retaining the "raised stance" ,keep the 15" cragar rims (which are very nice for now) and avoid the "bumps" on the inner wheel /fenders.Any and all suggestions are welcome , thanks!!!!!

That is a very nice looking car.

As for the shackles. You need new rear leaf springs. The ones you have are shot. I thought mine were bad but I think that yours beat mine. The leaf spring is supposed to have an arch to it. Yours are just about flat.

Have fun with the car and welcome to the forum.

so even after replacing the leaf springs with new ones from jcwhitney, they are still rubbing on the wheelwells?
what kind did you order from jcwhitney. your prob better off checking out mustangsunlimited.com or the restomod shop. sorry i cant remember their website.

if price is not a problem, get a correct set of leaf springs and new shocks from a mustang vendor, or if you need to go the cheapest route for the time being. you could always get add a leaf helpers. ive seen kits where you add leaf springs onto the original stack of springs and ive also seen ones where it looks like a traction bar that is added to the bottom of the leafsprings. such as this one http://www.jcwhitney.com/LEAF-SPRING...3426_10101.jcw
