17x8 or 17x7 fronts?
You have the wheels now right?
Have you test fit them at all?
7/16 track change can be alot when it comes to fitting tires but you could try popping an old 225 45 17 on the rim for a test fit and see how close you are. You are at the point where exact measurements really are needed.
If you look at my charts here:
http://www.dodgestang.com/emAlbum/al...ide%2065-6.pdf
You will see 2 entries with wilwoods in the 17s. One is using 5.125 backspacing and a 225 without reporting rolled fenders and a soft front spring setup and one is using a standard 4.75 backspacing with a 235 but with rolled fenders and a stiff 620 like I use. So with enough negative camber there is at least one person who has made it work...

will a 17x8 with 5" backspacing fit, or would i have to go with a 17x7 5" BS? i dont mind doing the 7" rim, as long as i can fit a 265 or MAYBE 275 in the rear im good.
or would the 17x7 have a 4.75" backspacing?
ok i see the 17x8 with wilwood and 4.75BS, so at least 1 guy made it work. yes

or would the 17x7 have a 4.75" backspacing? I don't think that would fit in the front since 4.25 is generally the most you can run in the front in a 17 and even with the extra track from the wilwoods I think it would contact the a arm.

hmm, lets say that i decide to go with ron morris coil over setup, then what would be the ideal sizing? sorry for so many questions, but this seems to be the most confusing part of building a car

what does the a-arm drop mean? i have the drilled holes for the shelby drop on my car right now, is that the same thing but designed for the tubular setup?

i probably wont go with the coil overs. i think the best thing is to get a 17x7 with 4.75" BS for the front and a 17x8 4.75" BS for the rear. and tires, a 225,235 / 40 / 17 front and 265/40/17 rear.
this sound good?
