not to hijack the thread but my door panels were media blasted and werent repainted so they're covered in surface rust...what would be the best way to get rid of that without screwing up the texture?

This worked great for my doors. I scuffed with Scotch Brite and then sprayed. The scuffing did not damage the texture. The nozzle on this paint is better than most. It gives a nice vertical pattern. It runs very easily though. It also was a dead on perfect match to original.

If your talking about the interior panels on a fb some are plastic and some are metal. I don't think there is a need to scuff or strip. Just clean them up before you paint. I used the satin/semi gloss black rattle cans from dupli-color available at any auto parts store. This is close to the factory dull finish for the interior panels. There is an adhesive promoter available by dupli-color that I used too beforehand. A couple of coats and you should be good. There isn't much you can do to prevent scratching, but it is simple to repaint.

Try a panel by this method and it will look correct, if not, you're not out much, only $10.

steel wool baby, then wipe it down with lacquer. Make sure you primer the metal to prevent this from happening again.
