Default input shaft?

I was talking to sue at modern drive the other day and she said that the input shaft on any t5 has to be 7.64in. in order to fit my i6, and that a t5 from a v8 wont work well, and then went on to say that i should grab one from a 4cl. are all the t5 input shafts the same from the fox body stangs. or are some years different?

im not sure, she sounded a bit confused by my questions, however she wouldn't transfer me to anyone else, ive got one from a 88 gt that im going to drop in. some people say its all i should be looking for and others say its geared wrong and that in 5th as soon as i lift my foot off the pedal i will have to downshift? does that sound right??

How much power are you makig with you I-6?
you shouldnt have to downshift if your crusing at highway speeds but if your worried about stalling add an intake and slightly larger carb that should give you more than enough power to keep those gears tunning.
