Default Turning lemons into lemonade......

Hey guys, I'm back!! 6 months ago, Hurricane Ike flooded my home and my '67 coupe. At the time I was too busy ripping out my floors, walls, furniture, etc. to deal with the car. Since it sat in 2 feet of saltwater for 24-48 hours, I let the insurance company total the car and pay me off.

After living in an RV trailer in my driveway for 3 months, the house is fixed and totally remodeled. The process really sucked but the end result turned out awesome.

This week I finally filled that empty spot in the garage. It'll be interesting to see what you all think of my purchase. I'm thrilled to own it, personally.....

The good:

'67 convertible with GTA badging. Shelby console. Deluxe interior. Newly reupholstered '68 bucket seats with the headreasts. Cragar 16" rims with Goodyear American Eagle tires (new). 302 4-V, edelbrock intake, Holley 600 carb. Accel dist & coil. Hooker headers. 9" rear end with 370 gears. Power steering. Power brakes. Power top. New front & rear springs. New KYB shocks.

The bad:

Salvage title

The Price:
$10,500 - that's only $500 more than I got from the insurance company for my coupe.

What 'cha think?

It's rained every day since I picked it up, so here's the few pictures I have. Better ones to come when the sun comes out:

Abolutely beautiful. Glad to hear all worked out with the house. That was a very fast turnaround with your insurance company etc.

Didn't know Cragar made 16's, very cool.

Looks very nice. Do you know why it has a salvage title?

That is a good price for that car. The salvage title would worry me a little though.

Hey as long as it drives and is in good condition, who cares about a piece of paper, geeezh. It's not like you're going to post it on the windshield. I love those wheels, really makes it look great!

Who cares about the salvage title....just means it probably sat for years and someone lost the title or something along those lines.

So what....mine sat for years to before a PO fixed her up and put her back on the road just in my case the PO was lucky enough to still have the title. Most of these cars probably sat for years before someone fixed them up.

Nice looking car and really happy to hear everything is working out for you.

She's a beauty, man. Too bad about the salvage title, but I think you can get that changed. Glad to hear you got the house up and going again...that was a chore, I bet.
