Turning lemons into lemonade......
this may work for the title.
Did you register into your name yet. If no then dont.
If so. just wait. In a year from now have someone in your family go to the dmv with the car and a hand written reciept for the car dated today.
have that person tell dmv that they bought the car a year ago and it has been sitting and they lost the title. have them also state that you are no longer reachable. At that point your family member can take a application to an insurance co. and get a bonded title based off the original vin on the car. Hopefully the new vin is not the anymore, wink wink.
The bond for the title should be cheap, maybe a couple hundy.
Have your family member go back to the dmv with the bond and register the car into his/her name.
Then the next day transfer it back to you. Done deal. Original title without the salvage part.
It is just using the system!

I've been sitting at my desk all day mulling over if its worth the extra steps to get a clean title.
If I do that, I still have a car that doesn't have the VIN stamed into the inner fender. If I were to decide to sell the car, wouldn't that be a really big issue?
I didn't buy the car to turn a profit, but the prospect of instantly doubling its value is appealing, to say the least. Of course that also means I'd have to insure it for twice as much.

Beautiful car, drive and enjoy it! I think its a nice buy, have fun and enjoy your new addition.
I've had a car title rebuilt here in Texas... Yes it has history(maybe ?), but shoot by time it was all said and done I ended up with a nice blue title. You should look into your cars history more and see what exactly salvaged the title? A cars history can sometimes be very interesting.

You previous questions can only be answered by you. But, I would think that it would be harder to sell a car with a salvaged title than a car missing a vin. When iregistered mine, they didnt even look nder the hood.
That is one beautiful convertible. Congrats on the addition to the garage. Sorry you had to lose your coupe and do all that work on your house. At least it's all done and now you can enjoy the new car...once it stops raining.
