Default Coil Spring Install Question

I have a 1968 Mustang Coupe. I was replacing my old coil springs, shocks, spring seats and control arm bushing the other day. I got a good coil compressor from NPD and removed the old springs with no issues. Took apart the control arms and rebuilt them with new bushing kit and reinstalled. I can not get the new spring in so....I am guessing that I should not have installed the upper ball joint and connected everything up yet. Can I get them in with the spindle hooked up. Do I have to disconnect the lower control arm or upper ball joint to let the control arm "hang down" enough.

It is 67 degree here, finally, I am eager to take her for a ride. Its been a long winter.

Thanks for any input.

You have to compress the spring to install it. Everything else needs to be hooked up, otherwise you'll never be able to install the ball joints.

hint - instead of compressing the spring and than placing it in the perchs. . .place the spring in the upper perch and compress the spring upward by pulling through the shock tower. The top of the compressor sits on top of shock tower, and the center screw goes down through the opening, and the bottom hooks the spring. as you tighten the screw, you pull the spring upward. Simply lift the lower control arm and tighten the ball joint when ready.
