Question mustang question

I have a 67 289 mustang. I recently rebuilt the motor, and have reinstalled it in the car. I put the clutch and flywheel on the motor before Installed it. Once I got the motor tightened against the tranny and the motor mounts back in I tried to turn the motor. It is in neutral and the crank will not budge. Before I installed it in the car the motor turned very nicely. Also I hooked up the cluch shaft and when you put the transmission in gear and press the clutch it does not go into neutral (you cant push the car), but if you take the car out of gear it will roll. I am assuming the problems are related. Could it be that I installed the clutch wrong, or maybe the transmission splines aren't lined up correctly. Any advise would be appreciated I don't really want to pull the motor back out but it seems I may have to.
