Default Mechanical Lifters

If mechanical lifters were removed and not necessarily replaced in the correct order,
would that necessitate re doing the break in procedure?

It would necessitate replacing all of the lifters. Do not run the engine like that. Each of the lifters break into each of the cam lobes individually. They absolutely cannot be swapped, or you risk destroying your cam and lifters and sending metal shavings through your engine.

Good. I was looking for justification for a new cam/lifters/rods. I read something similar
on another forum.

Appreciate your comments.

That's certainly one way to look at it

Let us know what you end up doing, and if you need help with cam selection.

I believe Congress is voting on that next year. This year it is, "let’s put America into debt
for the next 20 years and build a path to hyperinflation."
