Default Monte Carlo Bar

So after having talked to some of you and after reading the most recent Mustangs and Fords article I think that a simple install of a Monte Carlo Bar might be a fix to my car's handling nightmare. Does anyone have anything to say about the difference in the adjustable bar vs. the fixed bar? I like the convenience of being able to adjust it but really, would I even ever have to do something like that? I just want to hear some opinions and weigh in the price cost as well..... Thanks.

I put the straight chrome ones on mine from NPD. It "seems" to help a little when making tight turns and all but thats about it.

Do your towers flex that much? You might have some rust issues?

It's a possibility, I have some problems with the caster settings as well but I thought that for $50 - $100 it was worth a try to see if it would solve the problem.

My car is like 98% rust free so I wouldn't think that would be the problem but from what I have heard from some guys on the forum is that the shock towers can just sag after all this time. I'm having some head work done on my car right now so I haven't had time to measure the distance across the engine bay to see if they are sagging but just wanted to start looking into the Monte Carlo bar anyway as an option

Well I hope for your sake its OK! The bar will box it in and help stiffen it. You might also want to look into a shelby brace kit too (bunch of formed steel reinforcment sections that you weld over the original stress areas) because they will really stiffen up those areas.

Hope the bar does ya though!

Thanks, i'll look into the reinforcement kit. As far as the bar, just gotta narrow it down to which one.

if you have a huge distributor air cobra aircleaner you might need to go for the bent one. The staright one will of course be more stable.
The bar together with the export brace will make a huige difference to any car.
Even slow corners (aka roundabouts) are far more 'flatter' going through

the shock towers of the mustangs are weak design, they have to be strenghtend for better handling.

of course I cannot say if this will resolve your problem as it might be somethign completely different. In any case it'll help. best paired with export brace.

Yeah, I do need the bent one, here is what I was looking at

But I just didn't know if it was necessary for me to drop an extra $50 if there is no real benefit to the heim jointed adjustable bar. Just wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with this vs. the fixed bar.
