That is the Boss 347 Ford crate engine (450HP). It came with that oil filter, but I had to change out the dual sump Fox body oil pan (sold that on ebay for $300!). I don't know what the difference is, anyone?

I only use Motorcraft filters as well. I just noticed that that Ford Racing version of the Fl1A is available from Summit/Jegs and some Mustang parts houses. I was wondering if it was really any better.

The load leveler has arrived. We will probably be installing the new engine Friday or Saturday.

Then engine is now in. We got it in earlier tonight. That load leveler really helped. Over the rest of the weekend we will get the transmission in and get a few other things done.

All I really need now is a custom driveshaft for my T5 and 9 inch setup and the Fluidyne radiator that is backordered. There are a few other things that need to be done, but this is the only things needed to be able to take it for a test drive.

Hey James, Where in central texas are you located? I am just north of Austin. Are you a member of any of the Austin Mustang clubs or do you go to any of the cruise in shows?

I just realized something. We installed the engine on Friday which was the birthday of the Mustang, so my Mustang got a great birthday present.

The T5 is also in now. We got that done yesterday.

Glad to hear it is all installed! You installed the tranny after the engine was in? It is much easier and safer to install as an assembled unit.

Yeah, We installed the T5 after the engine was in.

We used a support accross the inner fenders to balance the back of the motor. Interesting though that the engine didn't want to fall back much if any at all.

Since the radiator support does not come off I couldn't see how the engine and trans could go in together, unless the car was on a lift or there was a pit like at the oil change places under it.
