Default will this fit?

I was wondering if a 289 transmission will switch out with my 200 inline six transmission.

as long as you have the right bell housing it will.
and make sure its the right imput shaft. it'll fit no problem. you wont even have to shorten your DS

I think you can do this but there is some external componenet that is V-8 specific that "should" be changed but you can get away with not doing it if your careful. Forgot now what

The tag is probably a rebuild tag, it wont tell anyone $hit.

But, I will assume it was a tranny for a 289 as these are the first fthree numbers, I am pretty sure that the 289 ONLY came with a C-4.....

If not "only" mostly,,, does anyone know if Ford put any 2 speed trannys behind any VERY early 289s?

I want to say 64 was the last year for the 2 speed jobs.... (I-6 Falcons used them in 64)
