I just picked up my short block rebuild from my one and only machine shop in this town. I was told that when I replace the thrust plate on the cam that I needed to get a new plate that has this hump on the outside edge so that it would block an oil port (to be able to keep oil pressure). I know it wasn't/didn't have one when it was torn down or could it have had a soft plug in it? I got a old 66 shop manual and it doesn't address it at all (can't find it anyway). What do ya think.
