Default Hazard Lights 67

My hazard lights stopped working last night. I dont think im ever actually going to use them but I would like if they worked again

Is there some type of flasher relay behind the cluster I can replace or should I start checking some where else?

I did have the flashers on for about 15min last night while I was changing the bulbs out. I did not yank on any wires or do anything crazy that I know of.

FYI the blinkers (left and right) work with out any problems.

Thanks

There are separate flashers for hazards and T/S's

Check under the dash for a flasher wrapped up to the wiring harness.

This may help.

If you had the hazards on for 15 minutes straight it wouldn't surprise me if that was enough to burn out the old hazard flasher unit. It's a simple replacement if you can find it under the dash, mine is roughly on the lower left side of the rear of the radio, accessible from the drivers foot well.

Thanks, I took a look under the dash and could not spot it. Was your wrapped in the harness?

I plan on taking out the instrument cluster (again) this week to finish up some detail work. Im hoping it will make it an easier task with more room to look.

Let me ask you this. How different does the hazard flasher look compared to the blinker flasher? If anyone has a picture, that would be great!

I know mine wasn't wrapped in anything, it has a little metal clip that holds it in place under the dash. If I recall, my hazard flasher was a green plastic unit compared to the steel turn signal unit, but I think that's irrelevant considering it's most likely not the original one.

As far as finding it in mine, from the drivers foot well, look up behind the dash where the back of the radio is and it's pretty much right in front of you. Yours may be (and probably is) in a slightly different spot since yours isn't a 69.

Alright, apparently I lied slightly. After going out to check it's more directly behind my washer switch, but still easily seen from the foot well. Kind of hard to grasp the depth here, it's about 3 inches up from the bottom of the dash unit, above that hole under the arrow.

Gee. that looks like it is wrapped up in amongst the harness like I mentioned.

Not every car has things where they are supposed to be.

It looks like it, but it's not. That bundle of wires is underneath it. Depth, like I said.

Is that a stock or an aftermarket hazard flasher unit? I thought they were a metal color not green.
