Default Carb Fuel Problem

Just rebuilt 289 and 2100 Autolite carb. When test driving the car will run out of fuel if I run over 40 mph, I can feather the gas and keep it going. I pulled over and shut down and took top off the top of carb and the bowel was only 1/2 full. Started car up to see if float needed adjusted and it was fine at idle, bowel filled up to 1/4" from top. Took new fuel pump canister off and it was full with clean fuel and cartridge clean. Could I be vapor locking? Other than replace new sending unit in tank,or new fuel pump don't know what to try. Any help is great.

Fuel pump for float level, or a clog/kink in a line somewhere.

Did you replace the fuel filter?

I installed new pump and canister with new filter and tank sending unit with sock. I don't have an inline filter. How can I check fuel pressure to carb?

you can check that only with an inline fuel pressure gauge. they're quite cheap. get one for carbs. 0-15psi max
