Default Stance

having a hard time figuring out what to get to obtain a particular stance (lower in the front and raised in the rear) similar to that in the picture. if people can post their stance and what they used to obtain it, id greatly appreciate it. THANKS!

I cant really tell from that small picture but it looks to me like that car has been lowered front and back and is running a larger diameter rim on the rear. If you run air suspension or adjustable coil overs on all four corners you could set the stance any way you want without having to guess what springs you need or cutting coils ect. although it would be a lot more expensive.

This car has air ride, change the stance with the push of a button. That's what I'm going for.

this was my previous setup, which was stock original rear springs with about 1.75 cut from the front coils, it had a serious rake to it.

this is what the car is now. 620 coil springs with 3/4 of a coil cut off. the back has new 4 leafers with 3/4 lowering blocks out back. the front still needs an alignment, after the re-engineered front suspension. I wan the front to sit about a 1/4" lower then the back.

Before you do anything else, you need to relocate the upper control arm mounting holes 1" lower (I can get more specific instructions when you are ready to do this). Not only will that drop the car about 5/8", it will dramatically improve handling.

This is a very important modification, and should be done BEFORE any other.

620's front and 4 leaf in back?? Isn't that a little mismatched having stiff 620's up front and soft stockish leafs in back?

The BOSS 302, BOSS 429, BOSS 351, 428 Super Cobra Jet, and 429 Super Cobra Jet all had 4-leaf springs, and I wouldn't call them "soft".

wanna go for a ride? this car is to stiff for the street! lol plus the fact that I have adjustable shocks set for a stiff ride, oh and caltracs.

As for the shelby drop or whatever people like to call it, this is solely based on the design of the vehicle and its purpose. This drop is NOT recommended for a street/strip car.

When I did the drop I didnt notice any change in ride height, but that could be just my setup. I even anticipated it changing the height when I ordered my coil springs and I still had to cut them.
