engine idle

Default engine idle

i have a 66 mustang with a 289 2 barrel-what is the correct idle for the carb to be set at since i had it rebuilt-thanks-tom

if all is stock then 850-ish in park and 700-ish in gear would be 'normal'

wow. I have a normal 4 bbl. And I am around 550, and then in drive I am around 450ish... but it sounds good

you can always go lower if the engine takes it, but stay away from rattling. just killing engine mounts etc
