Rim Size
Also the price between 17's and 18's really isn't much of a difference anymore since there are a lot of cars coming from the factory with 18's. I found a 245/40/18 for $63.76 on discount tires the 245/45/17's from the same manufacturer were $55. I wouldn't base my wheel choice off between 17's and 18's off tire prices. Those were some off brand tire but for the same cooper tire in 245/40/17, and 245/35/19 were both about $100 and the 19's were the cheapest of them go figure.

Wheels are very subjective, I'm very happy with my 17s with not cheap tires. Best ride quality I've ever had in the last 20 years of ownership.
theres no reason to dog him like that. its his car, he can do whatever he see fit to do.. you can snicker at his pics if you so desire, but you dont have to be an azz about it.

You are right on the cheap part. Go ahead and cheap out, let us know how it goes...

Here is another "horrible" mustang with 18's. "Bottom line is" No one asked for opinions the guy already decided he likes the looks of big rims and wanted to know if there would be clearance issues ect.

you gonna flare your fenders like that? you have a high end suspension set up like they do? doubt it. but yes, you go ahead and put those gangsta 18s on ur coupe. dont come crying to us when u rip the **** out of your fenders hitting a bump while turning.
"hey, if it looks good on a 200,000$ car, it should look good on my car!!"
lol if you had bothered to read the beginning of this thread you woulda seen that we already discussed those cars. they look good because they were DESIGNED to handle that big of a wheel.

Flare the fenders like what? And how would you imagine that going to an 18" rim is going to rip the **** out of your fenders, please fill me in on this as apparently I know nothing of the mystical abilities that these 18" wheels have. A 245/45/17 has the same outer dimensions as a 245/40/18. Where are you going to lose fender clearance.

As for the suspension I'm running, I have the front and rear suspension from a 96 Mark VIII. Which doesn't matter because as said before you can get tires with the same outer dimension as for a 17" wheel therefore there would be no clearance issues. And I don't think I would ever require your impressive knowledge of building cars for my build but thank you for NOT offering.
