Default 68 coupe suspension questions

I have a 68 "T" code coupe that I am going to put a 302 in. Last week I replaced upper and lower control arms, strud rods and bushings, swaybar links, springs, and shocks. The replacement springs are TRW "Standard stiffness" springs (whatever that means) for a V8 car. After replacing everything, the front end of the car sits at least 4" higher than before. I haven't replaced the I6 with the 302 yet, but even with the V8 I think this thing will sit too high. Tuesdqay I plan on removing everything and doing the "Shelby Drop" on the upper control arms. My question is....do I need to cut some of the spring off too? Will it settle in at all or will it still sit high? The leafs and rear end will be replaced when I drop the V8 in, but that is an issue I will deal with when the engine is done.
Thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks,

Don't cut the springs until you have the 302 in place.

Wait until you have drove it some to cut the springs, anytime I have mine on a lift when I set it back on the ground it will sit high on the front end at first. The suspension has to have some time to settle.
