Default Let's Talk About Wheels!

Well I am sure someone in the past has posted a thread like this, but it is always good to refresh peoples minds. From your experience what are the size of wheels and tires are able to fit into the 65-73 mustangs?

For example (this is just a guess)
1969 Mustang Fastback largest wheels size is:
Front wheels 17x7 with 215/45
Rear wheels 17x8 with 245/40

And repeat for the 15" 16" and 18" wheels for each year...

Dodgestang's site has exactly what you're asking for. A search ought to turn it up (I don't remember the address offhand, though I do know that work internet filtering will not let me go there).

Your guess is a little on the small side

I'm going with

17x8 245/40/17
17x9 265/40/17

On my '68 fastback.

I have 17X 8 240/40/17 on the front and 17X9 275/40/17 on my 1968 Coupe. Be VERY careful on the front of your car. Personally if i had to do it again, i would NOT have put a 17X8 on the front unless you have completely modifiedied it. I would go with a 17X7 225 tire. I had to use a +24 offset with a wheel spacer just to get mine right. Not worth the aggravation. Also i definitely believe there is MORE room on the 67 and up cars over the 65 & 66, because i had 17's on my 66 and they were 17X7 and i had to curl the fenders in the front just to get them to not rub.....Good luck! it is worth it in the end...

do you guys have pictures of your wheels on your mustangs...

and please list the size of rim, tire, and year of car (like most of us really need that info, but hey you never know!)
