Default Windshield removal

To those of you who removed your own windshield, how did you remove the the sealant? I can't get it off my car at all and it's crazy sticky like never drying silicone. I've tried acetone but the rag just gets stuck to it and I've scraped off as much as I coulod get off really. Any other ideas?

Wow. Mine was kind of rubbery but not sticky. I took it all off with a wire wheel attached to a drill. You might try it. Worked great on mine. Good luck!

Well, if they used glass bedding compound, try mineral spirits or turpentine.

I used a wire cup brush on a grinder but that is only an option if you are prepping to repaint because it will take it down to bare metal.

Just get some cheap ones from harbor freight. They have the 3" twisted wire cup brushes for your grinder for only $4 so you're not out much if it gums it up.
