Yes, I put the corral on with the grille already on the car.
Is your grille a re pop or original? See I knew it was those dam brackets raining on my parade. I went back and found a picture of my old unit and sure enough, it did not have the brackets.

I check with NPD and they only carry the unit with the brackets.
