Talking '68 Shelby Progress...

I haven't been able to get that much done seeing as though my car is sitting outside and it has rained just about everyday this week. But I haven't been completely usless, I've been working on my gauge cluster and have final finished my steering. I am a little disapointed though that I bought some black paint from M.U. for my dash a while ago and sprayed it on, but it chips off way to easily. You could just barley drag your finger nail across it and it will take a huge scratch mark off. I was thinking how I should have used a tougher paint. It may need to get resprayed later on. Instead of using the stock shifter, I came across a B&M Megashifter. I think it will look good and be it bit more fun on the road. Since my car has been sitting in the rain, I applied some self etching primer to keep it from rusting. You can see how I have molded my upper air scoops in.

the gauges are autometer's ultralite.
BTW: the speedo looks like it's turned a bit clockwise. Can you correct that or am I just wrong

Everything looks good except....the shifter. Ugh. Nothing wrong with a factory shifter, and at least it looks good.

Mike the car looks to be coming along nicely. I do like the upper scoops. Sucks on the paint issue. I decided against painting the dash and used spray adhesive and vinyl instead. Took a few hours but it looks great and no chipping, scratches or flaking to worry about. Bought the matching bolts of vinyl from NPD. Just an idea to think about.

Never did like the looks of the big shifters like those. Just doesn't seem to fit or look right to me.

I agree.

Great work on the car. The gauges look nice.

I don't care for that shifter either. It just looks big and blocky. I would just put a factory shifter in it. I always liked those.
