Installing Tach on dash pad... Pretty scary!

I know what you mean- I just installed real hood pins onto my 2008 Mustang. Drilling that many holes is painful and than everything has to line up or you're in trouble. Glad to hear it worked out.

There's a removable grill, I believe, on the center. Some people have mounted to that.

Bolstered by the ease of the first hole, I lined things up for the second... and got darned lucky! I'm right on the edge of where the metal starts to slope down.
One thing the photos won't tell you is there was a hole in between the screws for the wires. It was 3/4 or 1" (I forget which) and had a very short piece of steel tube inserted to keep the tach from crushing the foam pad when tightened, and to stabilize the tach from vibrating on the soft foam.

Also, use Loctite. You'll never have to mess with it again.
