Default Electrical Help

Just bought a 1964 1/2 Mustang. My first project car. Pretty good condition...inside has been redone, outside is in good shape...minimal rust. The biggest problem is something is draining the battery. The previous owner had to by 2 batteries for it over a year period. He said the got the "harness" replaced, but something is still draining the battery. Not sure what "harness" he is talking about.
When I drove it home after buying it the red generator light stayed on the whole time. After reading the original manual, it said that if the light stays on, then the generator is not charging correctly. The previous owner replaced the generator with an alternator, dont know if that has anything to do with it or not.

Any help would certainly help.

Thanks
David

That would be the wiring harness. Which one? All of them?

Changing to alternator is a pointless exercise, that leads to faulty wiring. In your case, it's not charging at all, since the light stays on.
