Billy,
When you shorted across the solenoid, did you hold the pliers handle down to make good contact, or did you just get a spark then backed off? Go ahead and get past the spark stage and hold the pliers ends firmly on the two big nuts. If your starter doesn't spin, then replace the solenoid and/or the starter. If the solenoid does not spin your starter, make a diagram of the way your solenoid is hooked up right now so you know which wires go where when you install the new one. Also take off your starter and take it to Autozone or Pep Boys or whomever, and have them test your starter. Be sure you unhook the positive side of the battery before taking either of these parts off. These are easy and relatively cheap fixes as compared to digging into wires under the dash.

OK, now you know you have a defective solenoid and possibly a bad starter if it didn't spin freely and very fast. Like I said before, take them both off, replace the solenoid and have the starter cheked.

I would have try one more time, maybe the car didnt start at first time because she wasnt started for along time..

Ask from someone to put some gas while you do the sparking thing.. maybe needs a bit help starting it up. Any how you should fix the electric problem.

Eran.

well, she's cranking again, but since I'm taking it to the body shop, it doesnt matter too much. Also still wont start. Gas isnt getting to the engine again. One of the screws on the fuel pump is gone so I think it's jsut to wobbly. But its ont a big deal anyway. I couldnt get the engine out because too many of the screws were rusted tight. I dont really have the time to mess with it now so i'll worry about it later. Anywa,y thanks a bunch for the help. And i'll be back in a few weeks after I finish some school stuff.
