Looking for a book to give my son for performance building a 289. What's your favorite book?

+1000. Doesn't really go into performance building, but is an excellent rebuild manual. Covers the process from engine removal to break down, assembly and istallation. I have my copy fro about 23 yrs now and I still refer to it all the time. Make sure it is the book by Tom Monroe. THere are other with the same title. Also, Another awsome book that covers everything is the Ford shop manual for your particular car. IMHO, these two books are a must for maintaining your classic and contain all the information you will need for any engine build, performance or stock. Just like teaching the kid baseball, start with the fundamentals.

With the knowledge gleaned from these two books, your sun will have a solid foundation from which to make educated decisions about what performance mods to consider in the future.
