FYI, a Marti report will tell you what options were installed in the car from the factory (i.e. folding rear seat, AM/FM radio, Power Steering, Power Brakes, window louvers, spoilers, etc.). It does not include dealer options, but provides much more than what tranny and color the car was.

Ordered Marti based on data plate info. You guys made some good points! Sometimes we tend to let dollar signs get in the way of what's important. I want my family and I to enjoy the car (my 3 year old grandson and loves it!) so I'll make it safe and as dependable as possible, not sweat the small stuff, and drive it like I stole it! That's what insurance is for. Thanks again!

Its a convertible a inline 6 one and small block are both worth about the same what does that tell you.Something as small as wrong tranny wouldn't stop most people from buying it.

I had a local appraiser come by and give me an 'unofficial' appraisal of my car. He said that since the car is not all original (manual transmission has been swapped out with an automatic, and radio has been replaced with an aftermarket radio, that I should not waste money on buying concours parts - I should just stick with top of the line NAPA parts. I never planned to show the car anyway, it's purely for enjoyment. What do you guys think of his remarks?

This all depends on what your intentions for the car are.
Are you ever going take it back to concours origional if you sell it?

If you're not going to answer "yes" to that question then it really doesn't matter. Just keep it and enjoy it. Sell it as a very nice (non-concours origional) classic when your done.
