65 automatic floor shifter question

Default 65 automatic floor shifter question

im trying to assemble everything back on my 65 automatic but im trying to figure out what im missing,.. i have the top part that has the the shift levels that goes above the carpet. but what does it screw on too? i have the part already bolted on to the body, but not what goes between these to items.. i have pics of what i have..

Looks like you are missing the shifter bezel mounting plate.
NPD part # 7B233-1.
It adapts the bezel to fit the assembly you have.

There is a flat plate that goes between them. I found it in the National Parts Depot catalogue. It is NPD part number 7B233-1.
You can go to www.npdlink.com and look in their virtual catalogue. It is on page 133 of the 65-73 mustang catalogue.

Thanks guys!!!! I appreciate it, better than the advice of my local mustang place to just get long screws n Mickey mouse it.
