Could you put a 1966 rear end into a 1976 cobra II?

Um, I'm not sure how to answer- The 66 289 typically had the 8" rear, but then the 76 302 typically had the 8" rear, too…

If the spring perches are in the same location and the overall axle width is the same or close to it then yes you can.
