Distributor cap question
Hi Everyone,
I have a 65 Mustang coupe with an inline 6cyl 200. I replaced the distributor cap last night and when I put it back on, it doesn't seem to go right back where it was. In otherwords, it has the latches on each side but you can still move (spin) the cap slightly which throws off the timing a good bit. So now my car won't crank.
My question is if this is right for the cap to be able to move?
Thanks,
Warren

cap must not move as it throws timing off. check the difference between old and new cap.
If there is none, maybe one wrong way round
i've seen caps that can be moved by a millimeter on the diameter which I already found a lot
