Well the torque converter moved fine when I put it on... Should I take off the driveshaft then pull the bellhousing out a little bit and remove the bolts connecting the torque converter to the flywheel and see if I can move either one then? If the torque converter moves we know its not the transmission but something in the engine right??

If this is indeed your problem, you will find that they will both turn when you seperate them. The problem is that there isn't enough clearance between the motor and trans because the motor is pushing the convertor into the pump (binding it.) so, yes, drop the driveshaft and unhook the trans from the motor. That should take you about 2 hours and I will be in bed by then, so, I'll look in before I go to work.

to sum up.....pull trans.

*edit* I got it off but I can not see anything as it is too dark now even with lights on. Could not turn the flywheel though... Now I have to figure out how to put it back on. Should I wait till I figure out whatever is wrong with my engine before I do that? Was thinking it might be easier with it off. I guess tomorrow in the AM I will start knocking things off that list you gave me Stepman.

Thanks for the help.

The whole transmission lol. Isn't that what I was supposed to do? The Torque converter spins fine but the flywheel still will not spin

yeah, that's what you were supposed to do. I just woke up...brain not awake yet. I was really thinking that was going to be it. I guess you can work on that list tomorrow.

Unless someone else has a better idea...?

Flash, top what you're doing. I talked to a few of the mechanics at work last night, and we all agreed that it has to be that your rings are stuck. Put some WD40 in the cylinders and let it soak for a day or 2 before going on to the other things. It will take a good bit because you want to get it to the "top" side of the piston. Remember that the cylinder is at an angle. Hope that works and saves you some trouble.

Alright. Awesome. About how much do you think I should spray in? I do not want to over-saturate it and cause problems starting. Will it mix okay with the ATF I already dropped in?

Luckily the only part I got to was taking the distributor off, was just about to start the valve covers and thought maybe I should check here first and see what I can find.

Thanks a lot Stepman.

I don't see a problem with mixing. Mosst of what you put in there should mke it's way past the rings to the oil pan. So, after you get it going, you'll want to change the oil. Let it soak and go out once in a while and try to work the crank back and forth. Once you get it going, tunr it with the staarter for a few revss to blow out the extra.

As long as you got the dist out, you might as well see if you can crank that oil pump manually and work some oil through it too.

Yea that is what I was going to try to do. I remember you saying that. When I pulled it off I looked down in there and I could not figure out how a drill could turn anything. Do I need a special attachment or something?

I have an oil gun would it be easier to just use some 10w40 or something instead of the dw40?

Edit. I want to blow this car up lol. Absolutely ridiculous. I have to leave for college in 2 days and I can not even get it to turn over ;(
