Default How to hang the exhaust

My exhaust hangers suck and the bolts that bolt it to the frame get loose and fall out because of the vibrations. I have to replace the bolts or tighten them down every week almost if they haven't completey fallen out. Theres a loud clanking noise when I sit at a light because its vibrating and hitting the leafs I think.

What kind of hangers do you guys use and do you bolt it to the frame or somewhere else. The exhaust was installed by the previous owner.

I'll try to post pics of the existing hangers.

most ive seen have hangers bolted to the sheetmetal underneath the back seat and in front of the rear end.

Maybe put some loc-tite or a lock washer on the bolts before putting them back in on your current setup?

This is the 65-66 exhaust, but the 67 hangers were almost identical.

The diagram shows the hanger bolted to the frame at the front of the rear so I guess I'm alright there. What about actual hangers themselves? Which ones should I use?

I justg did mine (stock) and bought everything from NPD. Very good quality. They have excellent repros of the original hangers. Make sure you order the bolts too. They are not included.
