Sometimes it's the customer, though, and you can't fire them. I know a Ford dealer who had a car brought back, a week old. Woman complained the high beams wouldn't stay on. Then she drove by an hour later with a friend, saw here car wasn't inside the shop, and called the service manager and raised holy hell, screaming at him on the phone. The GM walked out to the car, checked the switch and called the husband. Told him to please tell his wife the high beam switch is "push" on the TS lever, high beam "flash" is pull. She was driving around holding it on "flash", because she had never bothered to look at the owner's manual.

Well let's see...

Inspection report for my car stated, "The vehicle has been completely rebuilt with a new engine, suspension, floorboards and disc brakes."

What follows are a few pictures of the "completely rebuilt vehicle".

Front suspension:

and just so everyone knows here's the other side.

More new suspension:

Upper ball joints:

Wink

Custom Exhaust:

Oh and the Disc brakes..those are the cables hanging down...not connected.

The master cylinder was from a 55-57 Chevy. (no way to run rear discs with it).

Electric Fuel Pump, that was leaking on the custom exhaust.

Furthermore

1. Zip ties to hold the radiator in place.

2. Armor-all the entire underside of the hood...(no clue on this)

3. Inspector says, horns work...myself and my mechanic have never seen the horn (i.e. nowhere on the car).

4. "Custom suspension" per the inspector. We found Lakewood traction bars on it...

5. He listed the lights work but there is so many electrical problems I'm having my mechanic replace the entire harness.

Few more items (several) but these I thought I'd point out.

Oh and the headers were broken at the flange...I wonder why (see the custom exhaust picture).

Yeah I've had some idiot repairs done to my car.

Oh I will give credit though where it's due. The car did have new floorboards in it. They just were never coated.

this is a picture of the steering wheel after I got it removed. the horn ring had been pried off, breaking 2 of the mounting tabs, so it was held back on the wheel with electrical tape. The steering wheel itself has the hub cracked and snapped clear through in a total of 3 separate places, with pry marks all along the rim from a screwdriver or pry bar. If you notice the bracket in the center with 2 bolts and washers, that's a home-made steering wheel puller that took me all of 10 minutes to make after looking up a picture of one on the net (never removed one before!)!
After getting the wheel to break free, it was more than evident that the previous owner had never gotten inside to fix the turn signal switch and the horn. The wheel had been frozen on the shaft for years!
Since I mentioned the horn.... under the dash was a toggle switch hard-wired to 1 of the horns and direct to the battery, you had to lean under the dash, taking your eyes off the road to blow the horn! At least they didn't screw up the harness and the horn relay!
The horn ring gets me the most, pry it off? Have you priced a horn ring and wheel for a 1964.5 Stang? Cost more than my car (almost<gin>)
I love these stories, makes mine not hurt as much...

LOL! Did you and Stanger53 (from above) buy cars from the same guy?

No I don't think so. He does have two sons. I will say I ran into him at a local cruise-in about a month ago. Luckily he thought I was my brother (identical twin) b/c he had his Shelby there and I was in my classic truck (which he has not seen). For obvious reasons I did not have my car at the show.

He proceeded to ask me how my brother's car was going (mine) I told him he was having a "few things" done.

His response, "Great! He said he was going to fix it up for a cruise/show car."

Then he proceeds to tell me to let my brother know (me again) that he has another 69 Fastback that I should come see. It is black with gold interior, has A/C and a tilt wheel.

I just told him maybe so and walked away. I wouldn't buy anything from him again.

He had several classic camaros and a firebird when I bought my mustang from him. He also had a 70 Fastback and bought a 71 Challenger after I bought the Mustang.
