Question Need help identifying air cleaner and valve covers, 289

Hi guys.

FIRSTLY:

Here is a pic of the original air cleaner (snorkle removed) that is from a 67. You will note no nipples on the air cleaner.

Here is a pic of a recently obtained air cleaner, that is supposed to be from a 67. You will note TWO nipples. One in front appearantly goes to the valve cover on the driver side, the rear one to the valve cover PCV valve on the passenger side.

SECONDLY:
Here is a pic of the original valve cover and oil cap/vent.

And here is a pic of the recently obtained valve cover with a stovepipe on it (the vent came with it and it pops on top and has a hose that runs to the new air cleaner).

QUESTIONS:

1) Can you identify the different air cleaners and valve covers? Are they both indeed 1967?

2) The current setup has the pcv hose running from the valve cover to the back of the current 2bbl carb. Yet the newly obtained version would indicate it should run from the valve cover (pcv) to the back of the air cleaner. Even though the new air cleaner fits the current 2bbl, just like the old one, is the new air cleaner for a 4bbl?

3) Should I leave the pcv hooked to the 2bbl or the air cleaner (and somehow block off the other)?

Thanks guys!

just curious, by why didn't you just clean up and paint the stuff you had already?

This is a typical 67 289 2V or 289 4V air cleaner:

I know the style of air cleaners that you have were used on some of the early cars, 64 1/2, and early 65. I have been trying to figure out when exactly they were used. The nipples you have on the one air cleaner would indicate that it was from a later car 67 or68. The old valve covers are 67 and the new valve covers you have are 65/66.
