Disc Brake Conversion
Thanks everyone for the great advice. The Cobra brakes seemed like the way to go as I was weighing the options. However, it seemed like no matter which way I went, it all added up to around the same price! After talking to a friend of mine who works at Summit Racing, he offered me the front Wilwood brakes from his currect project, for a deal I couldn't pass up. He even threw in the new spindles! Now to get the rears; but here they are!
I have ran into a little issue with the Wilwoods. They outset the hubs by about 1/2" (unless you have the "0" kit). I don't think this will be an issue on an 67 or 8 "E" but you may want to keep that it in mind. Please do a progress thread, this will be fun to watch. Welcome.
Haha sorry 2+2, that color is beautiful! I am pretty sure I'm going to put an Eleanor Kit on her though, so since she won't be original I'm up for suggestions. I'd like to get an all numbers matching Shelby next time, then I'll be **** about the original color, bolts et cet. I'm thinking either black with 2 silver stripes, or the normal gray with black stripes. Anyways, I'm going to start a new thread here soon just about the project and progress... lots of pics to come and lots of work to do! Suggestions are wonderful!

I wish they would get rid of that name. Eleanor is F-in retarded! it was from a stupid movie that made imports look like they were worth something.
I dont care how badass yout STI is it is still JAP CRAP! They should stick to Blue- Ray

Ok, thanks Monster Billy. First off, don't start any beef with me - I'm not making fun of your 66 coupe, don't make fun of mine. Second of all, Eleanor is my middle name, Nicolas Cage happens to be my favorite actor, Jerry Bruckheimer - my favorite film producer, and the 67 Ford Mustang my favorite domestic car ever made. Oh and for the record - I drive an Acura so get even get me started on that subject -
2+2GT - Thanks for the visual, I will contemplate! I am funny about the identical Eleanor, so that is why I thought black. I was at a car show last week in my hometown and there was a Unique Performance Super Snake -- UGH! Oh it just made my blood boil as everyone was swarming to it and I just had to bite my tounge to not inform all the uneducated. But anyways, If I chose to keep it with the original body, I really do like the Turquoise, thanks for the ideas everyone!

My real beef with Eleanors (apart from how many there are) is I have yet to see one that was built with any craftsmanship. I'm sure there are, I've just not seen one yet. This includes the ones in the movie, by the way, by all accounts beat up used cars that got fiberglass panels and a lotta body filler. The rusty POS in the last scene was the best of them.
Last time I saw one, it was real shiny, but mechanically… For example, the brake cylinder was connected with compression fittings. Last I looked, that was illegal on 50 states.
