The 67-68 6 cylinder spring was different, but the factory actually hooked it on the front of the head, exactly as you describe! No kidding!

An excellent idea for boys or girls. Cuts WAY down on tickets and accidents, because of all the hard work that went into them. I knew kids who were given nice cars back in school, and the "gift" cars were always trashed in a year or two.

I agree. My dad and I started restoring his truck when I was 12 or 13. I'm now 17 and we still haven't finished, but very close. It is also some good parent/child learning experience. I enjoyed it so much I am in the process of fixing up my 67. I hope to have it done before I go to college next Fall. Also helped me chose my future career of being a Mechanical Engineer.

I agree. I guy I went to high school with was given a very nice 66 coupe with a stock 289 2bbl. He knew nothing about cars and didn't care either. He didn't understand why his 289 looked different than my 200. He thought it should be the same since the cars were the same. It was in very nice shape and didn't really need anything. It was bone stock. He didn't care about it at all. By the end of high school it looked like crap. Also, It didn't even actually make it to graduation. He totalled it, because he wasn't paying attention to what was in front of him.
