Stay with a reputable brand like Unisteer or Flaming River, they bolt in. Not sure about the lines...

yea i see 90% of people go with those, but that comes with the column too, i dont need that, maybe they make a kit without it, and it would be cheaper too.

also does anyone know if there is a big difference if a kit like these would be hooked up to the newer steering pump rather than the old ones from the 60's.

A lot of the times, the pump from the 60's, the pressure is too high, makes the wheel too touchy. The link you had is braggin about a 2.5 lock to lock, which might be great if you have power, but in a manual form, that means no torque, and a pain to turn at lower speeds. Stay away from the flaming river kit. Unisteer's kit comes without a column. But it does come with the column rod and bearing to re use your column.

Everyone has been talking crap about FR's rack setup since it came out. I'm surprised they haven't bothered to fix the issues or scrap the entire project if its really as bad as they all say. Because of this I'm also surprised that FR is still in business...it must be the only crappy item they make.

You are going to have to call the 4 or 5 major companies to find out a question like that. I have a 66 restomod with a serpentine setup. I wanted a Unisteer and they don't have a power kit that works with the serpentine pump from a fox. So, I went with a manual. They suggested that I mount the serpentine pulley to their pump and find a way to make it work. The aftermarket companies cant really cater to every possible set up.

Good luck and let us know what you find out.
