when i had all my cars parked outside one day cleaning the garage. a guy stopped and told me that i better not leave those cars out they might get stolen. i was like WTF. then 2-3days later, i had my cuda sitting under the carport and i hear my hood close and was like wtf. being that my house is almost 20yds from the street, no1 should even be near them. Well i went outside and confronted the guy, and then he had the nerve to ask me if i wanted to sell it. I told him to get the stepping.

BTW: how do you guys keep your hoods locked so no one can look underthem when they feel like it. I have hood pins on most of my cars but you can just pull them out and pop the hood latch and open the hood.

You can lock your hood with the lockable hood pins, or some people use luggage padlocks.

You can also get one of those chains that was popular in the 70s and 80s, that was made for that purpose. It allows the hood to be opened just enough to unlock it.

Here is a thread about locking the hood.

Here's something I did to protect mine at home.
Have you ever heard of the "Driveway Alert" (also "driveway patrol" at some places)? It consists of 2 battery operated units, the transmitter that has a motion detector that you place somewhere along your driveway and the receiver that goes in your house. It sounds an alarm if anyone walks near your vehicle.
I originally had it inside my Mustang when I first got it (placed up by the firewall on the transmission "bump") since my door locks did not work.
I now have it installed on the wall in front of my driveway and if anyone walks near my car the alarm sounds in the house with NO notice to the person outside. I was really surprised how many people walk up the driveway to check out my mustang. I have surprised a couple people that "just wanted to look"..
I did take a couple pieces of electrical tape and cover the blinking red light on the transmitter so it would not be so visible or defeated. Only thing I do forget is to turn off the receiver when I work on the car in the driveway once in awhile, it drives my wife nuts with the continuous alarm going off in the house. Other than that, If I leave it on, it announces when I drive up or drive away like it is supposed to.
You can use it to protect the area around your car or if you stay at a motel or something, place it inside your car out of view like I did and it will let you know if anyone gets into your car as long as you are parked close enough to your room (I think it's 50 foot range)
Harbor Freight has them for $25-$30, I did a search and found others selling them for $22 as well.

That driveway alert thing sounds like a neat idea.
