Is there a way to tell what size sway bar I have? It was installed on the car when I bought it and I need to replace the bushings but I need to know what size it is. Also, if it's not a 1" then I might get a new one that is 1". Anyone know of any good brands? Thanks!
Well, a vernier caliper is the most precise way, but a ruler will do.
Addco has been making sway bars for decades, good value. You should be able to get a 1" bar for about $120. You can spend 2 or 3 times that much, but you don't need to.
if you have no vernier caliper get on of those tapes that tailors use (mummy will have one). Measure circuference and divide by PI. That'll give you diameter. more accurate then guessing
Thanks for all the quick replies. I forgot I had a caliper in my toolbox. I measured it and it is a 1" so I am going to keep it on there. I am going to get some new end links and bushings today. Is it better to use polyurethane on these? I am going to NPD because it is 10 minutes away from me so what should I get? How are the Prothane ones? Thanks!
