I repair Ford/Bendix power steering, and they are just fine when built and installed properly. The 65-82 Corvette had the exact same system, and you don't hear they had crappy steering.

What do you mean by convert to manual clutch?

Will the Z Bar not fit because the steering box is longer towards the firewall so it hits the zbar?

I was under a buddy's 73 Corvette and was like hey, you got the same POS steering setup I do!
