Default Rouge Wire on Engine

Okay, installed the motor (after 5 hours of fighting the torque converter/flywheel/block/transmission housing.)

Now I'm doing everything else ... and I have no idea what this wire is (see photo). Any ideas?

Also ... the hose connected to the hard hose over the bell housing. Where does that go?

Thanks

Are you sure that wire does not connect to the coil. Maybe it is for a tach? It looks a little beefy gauge for that, but its just a though.

Sorry ... yes, I'm sure it isn't for the tach (at least my after market tach ... maybe something else for the original gauges?). The coil (before the rebuild) was on the other side of the motor. This wire would have been on this side of the motor.

The wires to the coil are the two from the distributor and the one for the aftermarket tach I have.

Wires are Taylor 45 degree boots.

Since the wiring is hacked, there's no way to be sure, but one clue is you have a direct read oil pressure line. This implies you now have a leftover oil pressure electrical connection.

As far as the wires go, the loom looks really groovy, but you have the #7 and #8 side by side, the Ford manual specifies separating these wires as much as possible, running them close together can induce a spark in #8 90° too early, a real power and economy killer.
