Default 69 Hardtop + center console?

I was wondering if it was possible to install a center console in my mustang that did not come with one? Any suggestions/pictures would help.

You'll have to take out the ashtray, but yes it's not a hard install, assuming the one you get is OE, the repro units may not quite fit perfectly.

Yeah a original style center console will fit without much of a problem at all, just need to remove that ash tray as said (there is an ashtray and lighter in the console)

You can also look into a newer style center console with cup holders and such. Companies like "hump hugger" make them and they are quite popular, and install without a problem. Only problem is it will be hard to match that green interior, but a black vinyl one will probably still look fine.

Here's the humphugger on CJ pony parts, you can select a variety of colors.

Can't really see mine too well in this shot, but I got it from a 69 with dark blue int. I recovered the padded armrest with light blue vinyl material that matched the seats; EZ to do. The insert was either painted plastic or woodgrain, and you can even buy after market inserts. 69 was only year with seat belt buckle holders. Some rattled, so in 1970 it's the same part except without the holders.

The aftermarket consoles for sale have a more comfortable armrest with a bigger storage compartment and built-in drink holders, but it looks a liitle too RVish IMO in a sports car.

I would trade my console for your fact AC in a minute. Good luck.
