Had to bitch
About a month after I moved in here I heard someone walk through the other door, they didnt walk like the better half or her family. Besides her family knows to announce themselves. So I stuff the .32 in the back waistband of my pants and go take a look. It was a scruffy kid about 24 standing there, asked where Dave was. Dave is the father in law and the kid said he used to work for him. The look on his face told me he wasnt there to find Dave and he obviously wasnt expecting for anyone to be home. The house sat vacant for two years before I got here. I didnt pull it out, but I later met the kids dad, and dad knows a bit more about me and that I have firearms, the knowledge/will to utilize them, and I am almost always home. Some houses have been broken into in the area, about a mile away, but nobody comes around here to take stuff anymore.
The other one was a guy who just walked through my yard with a gas can headed towards my cars parked next to the shed. I was in the shop as he strolled right by the open door, never bothered to check the house or anything. Said he was out of gas, so I sold him $2 worth because that was all he had on him, and mentioned I am a disabled veteran who is almost always home, because I cant work anymore. Havent seen him since. Must be stealing his gas somewhere else.
My deterrents. Yes those are all real. The pups are my early warning system if the driveway buzzers dont notify me first.

I don't have vandalism problems. Ever. Probably because all my neighbors think I'm batchit crazy and might eat them. Of course, the occasional random explosion or gunfire coming from my place helps in that regard. I did catch one neighbor kid casing the place in the dark once. He came around he corner of the house and walked face to face with my 12 gauge. I told him that I knew who he was and where he lived and if anything ever came up missing at my house he better be the one that took it because I was coming after HIM and his mother would weep when she saw what I did to him and I don't call the cops. Best surveilance in the neighborhood now. If he even THINKS someone might have looked too long at my place when they drive by, I hear about it the second he can find me. LOL!
A few years back someone kicked in the bottom panel of my garage door and made off with about 3K worth of power tool and yard equipment. Luckily my insurance covered it all and two new double layer steel doors, but even after installing motion lights etc. I still sometimes get out of bed to go make sure I locked to garage. Never had slashed tires, but once had my blazer window smashed for the CB and stereo. Sucks no matter what.
I had my work truck broken into parked right in front of my house. I had taken the door out of the partition the week before to load 10' material and hadn't put it back. Two days earlier I noticed my back windows were wiped clean, didn't register then. That Wednesday morning I woke up at 5:45 and went out to my truck, the side door was open and the passenger window smashed in. All in all, $15K worth of tools, supplies and customer equipment was boosted. Called the cops, they wouldn't come out to dust for prints, too many similar unsolved incidents in our area. I guess someone was casing my van for a few days and wanted to see what I carried which is why my back windows were cleaned off.
Happy ending here: I filed an insurance claim, full business and homeowers policies with the same carrier, and in a week I got a check for the REPLACEMENT cost of all items I listed minus my deductible - found the first snap-on truck I could, the driver was very happy when I left. I welded the center door in place the next day. Bad part is I still find shards of crumbled auto glass every once in a while.

I go to Highschool, and mind you i have maturity of 37 even though im 17, well i have '65 mustang coupe, and at a highschool with as much trouble as mine, i always find glass bottles hidden behind my tires, and stuff like that, one day i was leaving school early to find two black guys beside my car, i saw my car door open (and i dont even let MY PARENTS SIT IN MY DRIVERS SEAT!-because i do all the work for it) and saw him in my seat trying to hotwire it.. I think after a couple blows to the knees by my louisville slugger made people at SSS Highschool realize that the little Mustang Coupe, is untouchable..
