Default tires

just wondered, i have a set of 15" mags and stock 14" gt wheels. now if i were to mount tires on each set, same brand and tread, and make it so the 14" tires were the same height as the 15" tires, which would give me a better ride. im thinking because the 14" tires would have an extra 1/2" of rubber they would give me a little more cushion. right or wrong ?

Right. More sidewall usually means a better ride, assuming the tires are the same.

That said, I think the difference in ride quality will be hard to notice, while the difference in tire selection and handling will be much better with 15" rims.

If you have 15 inch rear and 14 inch front and make the tires the same height then the front sidewall will be thicker and it will look goofy. I would not do that. I would make the sidewall the same so the look the same only the front is a bit smaller. It will look much better like this.
